Top Three Accolade - British Championship
Lewis has successfully clinched overall third place positions in both the Elite 450 and Open Elite classes of the British Supermoto Championship. After a hard battle throughout the year with fellow DCR/NPS Team mate Davey Todd it went down to the wire in the remaining races of the Season. Reigning Champion Chris Hodson yet again secure an overall win in both classes and has shown significant constancy throughout the year. Lewis would like to pass on his sincere thanks to all his sponsors, team mates and dedicated fans who have followed and supported him throughout the 2013 season.

Well Done Champion!
On the back of a very long trip home from Australia Lewis travelled to Rednal Raceway in Oswestry in a bid to secure both the Southern Supermoto Championship and the British Masters Supermoto Championship. Somewhat jet lagged Lewis delivered some impressive riding which thrilled the watching spectators. Chasing hard for the Masters Championship and just points apart was fellow DCR / NPS team mate Davey Todd and together with reigning British Champion, Chris Hodgson, the three of them showed why they are the three leading riders in the UK. After a full day of track action Lewis came out the victor clinching both the SSM and British Masters Championship adding more silverwear to his already packed trophy cabinet. I am sure you will all join in with congratulating Lewis on this outstanding achievement.

He will ride a 2013 KTM SMR in this championship opener and he is obviously delighted to be given such an opportunity. Many thanks must go to Bryan Rankin of the Process Resources Group for selecting Lewis to ride in the championship and for the financial backing which includes flights, accommodation etc.

Lewis has taken a well earned week off from his hectic race schedule to relax and enjoy the summer sunshine, before embarking on another series of weekends racing ahead. Czech Republic Round Three of The World / European Supermoto Championships
Lewis made the long trip to the Czech Republic to compete at the highest level in the sport representing factory Aprilia team, Fast Wheels Aprilia. Early reports back from Lewis today (23rd June) indicate that the three days were an experience of a lifetime and even in the mid day heat of around 36 degrees he knew things were going to be tough. Race one saw Lewis relegated to dead last after Ben Stafford crashed in front of him and caused Lewis to run off the track and he was on a mission. He battled way though to 11th but was passed on last lap. Race 2 repeated the same finishing result after a poor start from 19th on the grid.

Off For A Blast Around A Country Estate!
Lewis will be packing today to head off for one of the UK’s premier Motorsport and Lifestyle Events, the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power. Based just outside the City of Chester, the estate plays host to this annual petrol heads mecca and with the likes of vintage formula one cars, through to some road going exotic machinery this event is truly one not to be missed. Lewis is hoping to set one of the fastest times in the speed trial, and this is against the likes of much more powerful and expensive machinery and it is worth noting that last year Andy Mitchell on a 650 Husaberg supermoto beat off all the competition to set the fastest time of the weekend.
Good luck Lewis!

Lewis' Golden Opportunity
Norfolk based British Championship supermoto racer Lewis Cornish has been travelling around for his sport even more than usual recently. Following on from a 32 hour drive and race winning performance at the Latvian Supermoto Championship last weekend the Nameplate Services/DCR racer jetted off to Rome for an opportunity of a lifetime. Lewis has been invited out to Italy to test for the Aprilia World Championship team with a view of possibly racing for the Ancona based outfit at a future Grand Prix. The Fast Wheels Aprilia team run the Italian factory’s attempt on the World and European Championships and are the most unusual and innovative race bikes in the paddock.
The revolutionary Aprilia MXV 450s features a unique high-revving vee-twin power-plant featuring a one off, high tech fuel injection/engine management system that is very similar to the systems used in F1 and MotoGP. Lewis will be testing at Latina and Corridonia before rushing back to the UK for this coming weekend’s round 4 of the British Championship at Blyton Raceway. Lincs. Lewis explained “This really is a once in a lifetime chance and I’m really excited about it and hopefully I’ll make a good impression and this will lead to a ride with the team.”
As one of the UK’s top supermoto racers Lewis know only too well that chances like this are rare as well as logistically expensive so the search is on for support and sponsorship to allow him to race at the European Championships and reach the very top level of this exciting and demanding all action bike sport. 23rd May 2013
Thanks to Latvian born National class racer Edgars Ivuskans, Lewis has embarked on a mammoth 32 hour road trip to compete in the Latvian national championships at Madona which is a new purpose built supermoto circuit. Edgars and Lewis will both be competing against the best racers in the Baltic countries and hoping for a good showing following their long drive. Lewis explained "Edgars only asked me at the Finmere trophy presentations so we only had a couple of days to organise everything and get the spare bike ready to race. I'm not sure what to expect but I know the Baltic countries have some top MX riders and I have raced against them at the Supermoto of Nations so I know how fast they are. I'm really looking forward to it." One thing is certain Lewis will certainly be seeing most of Europe as he passes though 8 different countries on his way to Madona.
